It's Showtime

Today's the first day of school, and being as I'm currently the admin assistant of a school, it's a big deal.  I'm anticipating needing a cool drink on a deck tonight.  The staff has had two months of rest, and we've had about a week to prepare for the kids today.  It's actually kind of crazy that it's not two weeks.  I still have barely skimmed my hundreds of e-mails that have accumulated from summer, and I still have yet to respond to dozens of phone calls.  I guess Steven Harper would be the guy to answer to for limiting the funding to schools so that only the bare minimum needed to function is squeezed into a week of prep.

There's still a lot to do, but as in show business, whether you are ready or not, you have to walk on stage when they call, "lights, camera, action!"
